Botamina Gawgruos

Physiotherapist

Bachelor of Applied Sciences (La Trobe University)

Master of Physiotherapy Practice (La Trobe University)

Botamina graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy Practice. She has always had a growing passion for physiotherapy and the power of both hands-on therapy and exercise as integral components of effective treatment modalities.

With three years of experience working at Heidelberg Football Club, Botamina developed a keen interest in managing sports-related injuries. She believes in a holistic approach to treatment, focusing not only on addressing the injury itself but also on collaborating closely with patients to help achieve their goals.

Her areas of interest include treating conditions related to the knees, shoulders, back, vestibular disorders, pre and post-natal conditions as well as working with neurodivergent patients. Having completed her DMA Clinical Pilates certification, Botamina is also passionate about incorporating Clinical Pilates in her practice as a physiotherapist, recognising the holistic approach that Pilates offers, whether that be for rehabilitation, injury prevention or overall health and wellbeing.

Striving to improve management of sports-related injuries in the community, Botamina runs the clinic’s information sessions for local sports trainers and has created an extensive online course on concussion and injury management, benefiting both sports trainers and physiotherapists working in sports clubs.

Outside of work, Botamina enjoys traveling and hiking with friends. You can catch her exploring new restaurants and activities to do around Melbourne on her days off. Botamina also enjoys dancing, Pilates and is a big foodie!
