Carissa Malliadis – Physiotherapist
B. Physio (La Trobe University)
Carissa graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy practice. Carissa has a particular passion for assessing and managing complex conditions along the lifelong spectrum; including acute sport-related injuries through to chronic, age-related conditions. Her treatment focuses around a patient-centred care model, whereby a patient’s holistic presentation and lifestyle directs their overall management.
Carissa has had experience assessing and managing sporting conditions within multiple high-level soccer teams, at local, State and National Premier League levels. Carissa is also currently a match-day physiotherapist for the referees in the Hyundai A-League and had experience working as a physiotherapist in the Westfield W-League.
Carissa has had additional formal training in therapeutic Dry Needling. She is also a therapist trained in the GLA:D Program, Australia’s first-line conservative treatment approach for the management of hip and knee osteoarthritis.
Outside of working hours, Carissa plays competitive women’s tennis and enjoys sitting side-line to various sports throughout the annual season.
